Overview
Buddha - the gentle sage, led the world on the path to enlightenment, two thousand five hundred years ago. This circuit is a pilgrim's journey, through the land of Buddha, where he preached his message of compassion, simplicity and renunciation - the places immortalized by the enlightened one.
Tour Highlights: The highlight of your journey will be the holy tree at Bodhgaya, under which the Buddha attained enlightenment. Visit Sarnath, where he gave his first sermon, and Kushinagar where he attained Pari nirvana. The ruins of Nalanda, still echo with the chants of scholars of ancient times. Vaishali, the site, where he preached his last sermon, and announced his impending Nirvana. Lumbini - The birth place of Lord Buddha Lumbini is situated at the foothills of the Himalayas in modern Nepal. The holy site is being developed with international support as the supreme Buddhist pilgrimage and a symbol of world peace. The shrines and monasteries that many countries have built or are still building reflect the architectural traditions of those countries, and thus giving Lumbini an international feel with a message of universal love and brotherhood. Sravasti - SRAVASTI or SAVATH was the capital of the mighty Kosala kingdom during Buddha's time. It is situated in the Uttar Pradesh and ten miles distance from Balrampur. It was at Sravasti that the Buddha displayed his great miracle sitting on a thousand Pettaled lotus in front of an audience consisting of the king of Kosala. There the Buddha displayed the multiplied forms of himself a million times going up to the highest heavens, in order to confound the Tirthikas and to established his supremacy.
Itinerary
Day 01: Arrive in Delhi
Upon arrival from Delhi Airport/ Railway station welcome to the Guests & Transfer to hotel for check-in. Later enjoy sightseeing of Old Delhi, visit Red Fort, Laxmi Narayan Temple, Jama Masjid, Humayun’s Tomb & Rajghat etc. After sightseeing back to hotel. Dinner & overnight stay at hotel in Delhi.
Day 02: Delhi – Varanasi (By flight)
After breakfast, check-out from the hotels and transfer the guests to Delhi airport to board the flight for Varanasi. On arrival transfer to hotel for check-in. Later enjoy sightseeing of Sarnath, visit Dhamekh Stupa, Mulgandha Kuti Vihar, Museum & Ashok Pillar. After sightseeing back to hotel. Dinner & overnight stay at hotel in Varanasi.
Day 03: Varanasi – Bodhgaya (255 km by road/ 5-6 hours)
Early morning visit to Varanasi Ghat and see Aarti of Holy River Ganges with boat ride followed by visit to Durga Temple, Tulsi Manas Temple etc. Later back to hotel for breakfast. After breakfast, visit Banaras Hindu University, Bharat Mata Temple etc. After sightseeing proceed to Bodhgaya. On arrival check-in at hotel. Dinner & overnight stay at hotel in Bodhgaya.
Day 04: Bodhgaya – Rajgir (75 km by road/ 2-3 hours)
After breakfast, visit to Mahabodhi Temple, Niranjna River & Sujata Village in Bodhgaya. Later proceed to Rajgir, on the way, visit to Dungheswari Mountain. Later continue to Rajgir. On arrival check-in at hotel. Dinner & overnight stay at hotel in Rajgir.
Day 05: Rajgir Sightseeing
After breakfast, excursion to Nalanda Ruins of Ancient University & Museum (Closed on every Friday), later visit Gridhkut, Bamboo Garden & Bimsara Jail in Rajgir. Dinner & overnight stay at hotel in Rajgir.
Day 06: Rajgir – Kushinagar (320 km by road/ 7-8 hours)
After breakfast, proceed to Kushinagar. On the way visit to Vaishali Stupa. Later continue to Rajgir. On arrival check-in at hotel. Dinner & overnight stay at hotel in Bodhgaya.
Day 07: Kushinagar Sightseeing
After breakfast, full day sightseeing of Kushingar, visit Nirvana Temple, Rambar Stupa followed by visit to local villages & see their lifestyle & also visit to Hiranyavati River. Dinner & overnight stay at hotel in Kushinagar.
Day 08: Kushinagar – Lumbini (Nepal) (160 km by road/ 4-5 hours)
After breakfast, proceed to Lumbini. After VISA formalities enter in Nepal (VISA is compulsory for Non-Indian Nationals) and transfer to hotel for check-in. Later visit to Maya Devi Temple & Ashok Pillar in Lumbini. After sightseeing back to hotel. Dinner & overnight stay at hotel in Lumbini.
Day 09: Lumbini – Bhairahawa – Kathmandu (By flight)
After breakfast, transfer the guests to Bhairahawa airport to board the flight for Kathmandu. On arrival check-in at hotel. Later, visit Patan Darbar Square & Kathmandu Darbar Square. Dinner & overnight stay at hotel in Kathmandu.
Day 10: Kathmandu Sightseeing – Nagarkot (30 km by road/ 1 hour)
After breakfast, proceed for the half-day sightseeing to Pashupatinath Temple, Boudhanath Stupa and Swayambhunath Stupa. Later drive to Nagarkot. Arrive Nagarkot and enjoy the view of sunset and eastern Himalayan ranges. Later check-in at hotel. Dinner & overnight stay at hotel in Nagarkot.
Day 11: Nagarkot – Kathmandu (30 km by road/ 1 hour)
Early morning, enjoy the view of Himalayas including Mt Everest - The highest mountain in the world at Sunrise. After breakfast, proceed to Kathmandu. En-route visit to Bhaktapur Durbar Square. Later continue to Kathmandu. Arrive Kathmandu and check-in at hotel. Later visit to famous tourist hub “Thamel” and enjoy last minute shopping of souvenirs. Dinner & overnight stay at hotel in Kathmandu.
Day 12: Kathmandu – Delhi (By flight)
After breakfast, transfer the guests to Kathmandu airport to board the flight for Delhi. On arrival check-in at hotel. Later enjoy sightseeing of New Delhi, Qutub Minar, India Gate, National Museum followed by drive pass through Parliament and President House. Dinner & overnight stay at hotel in Delhi.
Day 13: Departure
After breakfast, transfer the guests to Delhi Airport to board the flight for onward journey and tour terminates here but sweet memories remain forever…...
