Amarnath Yatra by Helicopter
Overview
Holy Amarnath Ji cave is situated about 141 km (88 mi) from Srinagar city of Jammu and Kashmir, India at an altitude of 3,888 m (12,756 ft), Yatra starts during summer time every year from first week of July to August end only as most of the year The Holy cave itself is covered with snow except for a short period of time in summer.
The Amarnath temple is one of 18 Maha Shakti Peethas and is considered to be one of the holiest shrines in Hinduism. Every year millions of Hindu devotees make an annual pilgrimage to the Amarnath cave across challenging mountainous terrain when it is open for pilgrims.
Tour Highlights: You will be travelling to Holy Amarnath cave by Helicopter from Baltal-Panchtarni-Baltal and after that explore Thajiwas Glacier and enjoy sightseeing of Srinagar with Shikara ride at Dal Lake.
Itinerary
Day 01: Arrival at Srinagar
Upon your arrival at Srinagar airport, our company representative will meet you and handover the documents of your trip. Later you will be transferred to Sonamarg (125 Kms/ 3 & ½ hrs) via river Sindh, on arrival check in at hotel, Dinner & overnight stay at hotel.
(Amarnath Cave is lying at a height of 3952 Mtrs. and is a famous holy place of pilgrimage for the Hindus and is held in the same veneration as Mount Kailash in Tibet. The sacred Cave contains a Shiva Lingam formed of Ice, the size of which increases or decreases according to the position of the Moon. Usually there is a big Festival in the 3rd week of August every year thousands of people from all over the country and from different parts of the world visit this Cave. The difficulty of the pilgrimage continues in itself, an extra ordinary sacrifice.)
Day 02: Amarnath Cave by Helicopter
After breakfast leave for Neelgrath which is 2 Kms from Sonamarg. Once you reach Neelgrath you will go through security checking for the helicopter. Thereafter you will board the helicopter for Panchtarni. Each Helicopter will take 4 or 6 passengers at a time. Once you arrive in Panchtarni walk to Cave which is a steep 6 km uphill journey and will take 3-4 hours. Darshan of Amarnath. Return from cave to Panchtarni, it is steep down and will take only 2 hours to come down to Panchtarni, then board Helicopter for Neelgrath. After all the passengers are back from Cave, we will drive to Thajiwas Glacier one can walk to the Glacier or ponies ride, later leave from Sonamarg for Srinagar which is 100 Kms/ 3 Hour’s drive. On arrival in Srinagar check in at Deluxe Houseboat, Dinner & overnight stay in hotel/ houseboat.
Day 03: Srinagar Sightseeing
After breakfast, enjoy tour of Mughal gardens, visit to Nishat Bagh (The garden of pleasure), Shalimar Bagh (Abode of love) and Chashmashahi (The royal spring) if time permits. Afternoon free for shopping & viewing the local handicrafts eg, Walnut wood carvings, crewel work articles, carpets & paper Mache articles. Evening Shikara ride to visit Floating Gardens, Lotus Gardens, and inside of the Lake. Dinner & overnight stay in hotel/ houseboat.
Day 04: Departure
After breakfast, transfer the guests to Srinagar airport to board the flight for onward journey and tour terminates.
